Welcome to Gartmore bed and breakfast
Gartmore Bed and Breakfast is in the village of Gartmore near Aberfoyle in The Trossachs and Loch Lomond National Park. Gartmore is 20 miles West of the City of Stirling, and 22 miles North of Glasgow. We are also on the National Cycle Route 7 and The Rob Roy Way.
A modern detached house, Sealladh Breagha, is your home from home during your stay. With unspoilt views across the fields and forest to Ben Lomond, you can watch the hens as they wander about the fields ready to supply our delicious eggs for your breakfast and the lambs at play in the springtime. Bedrooms, dining room and lounge all benefit from this magnificent view.
The accommodation consists of 2 guest rooms on the first floor. One double room with ensuite shower room and king-size bed, and one family room with ensuite bathroom and super king size bed and a single bed, plus a pull out single bed and can sleep up to 4 adults. A travel cot is available for infants.
Both rooms have a TV, hospitality tray and guest robes. The lounge has a large TV with satellite channels and an open fire, which our guests are free to use. We also offer books to borrow.
Gartmore B & B is ideally situated for a great variety of of things to see and do. Local golf courses are situated at Aberfoyle and Callander, with the famous Gleneagles course about 40 minutes away. There are miles of walking, cycling and and hiking routes right on our doorstep in the beautiful hills of The Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.
Scotland's only lake, The Lake of Menteith is only 6 miles away, where you can visit the historic Inchmahome Priory on a short boat trip across the Lake. Loch Lomond is about 20 minutes away and has lots of places to visit around one of Scotland's most famous lochs. Boat trips on Loch Lomond are available throughout the year.
We are located in the Heart of the beautiful Trossachs, made famous by Sir Walter Scott in his novels Lady of The Lake and Rob Roy. Guests can take a sail on Loch Katrine on the boat named after him, the Steam Ship Sir Walter Scott which has been sailing on Loch Katrine for over 100 years. Also you can visit the David Marshall Lodge in nearby Aberfoyle and Go Ape - a high wire adventure course with some of the longest zip wires in the UK.
Stirling is home to the magnificent Stirling Castle and The Wallace Monument as well as numerous other historic sites, including the Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre. Nearby, in Falkirk we can recommend a visit to the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel; an amazing rotating boat lift. Doune is 16 miles to the East of us and has the famous Doune Castle as see in the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail and more recently Outlander.
